Where LA families read up on their movers before they book

From the Long Beach docks to your front door

Marcus Reyes grew up in the San Gabriel Valley, the kind of place where everyone knows somebody who got burned by a cheap moving estimate. Before Pro Express, he spent years in warehouse logistics near the Long Beach and San Pedro ports — scheduling freight, loading containers, and watching how a job is supposed to run when the people moving the boxes actually own the operation. He also watched the household-moving side do the opposite: a friendly phone quote, then a much bigger number once the truck was loaded and a family had no way to walk away. In 2013 he started Pro Express to give Los Angeles a flat-rate move with no surprise charges, and he still prices most of them himself.

One crew, both ends, every time

What you book is what shows up. Pro Express runs its own trucks and its own uniformed movers — there is no second company in the chain, nobody bidding on your job, and no stranger ever handling your furniture. The crew that pads and shrink-wraps your home in Pasadena is the same crew that carries the last box into your new place in Santa Monica. We work the things that make an LA move hard: third-floor Westside walk-ups, narrow canyon roads where the big truck stages a shuttle, freight-elevator windows downtown, and the permit-only street parking we sort before move day so the truck has a legal spot.

The people behind Pro Express

Diana Marquez runs the office — scheduling, the certificates of insurance the DTLA high-rises and Beverly Hills HOAs ask for, and the billing, so your paperwork is squared away before you sign anything. Eddie Tran runs dispatch and the daily truck board, matching the right crew and gear to each address and routing around the 101 and the 10 at rush hour. On the trucks we have three crew chiefs: Hector Salas leads our piano and specialty work, Andre Wills heads the long-distance hauls, and Sammy Cruz is the one for stairs, hillside homes, and tight walk-ups. All told we are eighteen people, twelve of them movers, and they train together and wear the same shirts.

Licensed, insured, and California-based

Pro Express holds a California PUC (CPUC) household-goods carrier permit for moves inside the state and federal USDOT and MC authority for anything crossing a state line. We carry up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage per shipment, with released-value protection at $0.60 per pound standard and full-value coverage available if you want it. Our trucks are titled to us, serviced by us, and driven by our own crews. We do not subcontract a single move — that is what licensed and owner-run is supposed to mean, and it is how Pro Express has worked across Los Angeles since 2013.

02 Why us

You hire the movers, not a middleman

Book Pro Express and our name goes on the contract, our truck pulls up to your door, and our own crew works the ramp. A broker signs none of that — it flips your job to whoever bids lowest, then steps out of the picture.

Pro Express Moving
  • Our own LA trucks and full-time, background-checked movers — no day labor
  • One flat rate in writing, locked — what you sign is what you settle, to the dollar
  • The same crew loads your old place and unloads the new one, start to finish
  • CPUC household-goods authority and USDOT/MC for interstate, fully insured
  • A Los Angeles office and one point of contact from the first call to the final box
What a broker does
  • Hands your job to whatever carrier comes in cheapest that week
  • Surprises you with fresh fees and a new number once move day arrives
  • Puts strangers you have never spoken to in charge of loading your home
  • Keeps you in the dark about who actually owns the liability
  • Drops a call center between you and whoever ends up doing the lifting
