Where LA families read up on their movers before they book

01 Overview

Pasadena is old-house country, and that changes everything about a move here. The Craftsman bungalows around Bungalow Heaven, the larger period homes near the Rose Bowl, and the pre-war places near Caltech come with original woodwork, tight staircases, and doorways sized for a different era, not for a modern sofa. We’ve moved enough of them to respect what the house is made of.

Craftsman Bungalows and Period Homes

Sammy leads our stairs-and-walk-up crew, and the Pasadena Craftsmans are his bread and butter. Built-in cabinetry, narrow halls, and steep porch steps all get padded and walked carefully. We measure the big pieces during the estimate so the awkward turn at the top of the stairs is planned, not discovered with the piano halfway up.

Old Town, Narrow Drives, and Freeway Timing

The streets in the older neighborhoods near Old Town were striped long before anyone parked a box truck on them. Our crew chief checks the turn and the driveway first, and when a full-size rig won’t fit we shuttle in from a wider street. Coming up the 110 or 210, we start early to beat the backup.

Our trucks, our insured Pro Express crew, one flat-rate price written before we lift a box.

We move Pasadena

Our crews run Pasadena week in and week out, so the parking rules, the access, and the buildings are second nature long before our truck pulls up. Every quote is flat-rate and in writing, with nothing slipped into the fine print.

02 Why us

You hire the movers, not a middleman

Book Pro Express and our name goes on the contract, our truck pulls up to your door, and our own crew works the ramp. A broker signs none of that — it flips your job to whoever bids lowest, then steps out of the picture.

Pro Express Moving
  • Our own LA trucks and full-time, background-checked movers — no day labor
  • One flat rate in writing, locked — what you sign is what you settle, to the dollar
  • The same crew loads your old place and unloads the new one, start to finish
  • CPUC household-goods authority and USDOT/MC for interstate, fully insured
  • A Los Angeles office and one point of contact from the first call to the final box
What a broker does
  • Hands your job to whatever carrier comes in cheapest that week
  • Surprises you with fresh fees and a new number once move day arrives
  • Puts strangers you have never spoken to in charge of loading your home
  • Keeps you in the dark about who actually owns the liability
  • Drops a call center between you and whoever ends up doing the lifting

What Pasadena movers ask us

My place is an older Craftsman with narrow doorways and a tight staircase. Is that a problem?
Not for us. The Bungalow Heaven and Old Town Craftsmans are exactly the homes Sammy's stair crew handles all the time. Built-ins, original banisters, and doorways narrower than anything modern get padded and worked slowly, and we measure the big pieces during the walkthrough so there are no surprises on the day.
Can you handle the narrow driveways and street parking in the older neighborhoods?
Yes. A lot of Pasadena's pre-war streets weren't built for a full-size truck, so we check the approach beforehand. Where the driveway is too short or the street too tight, we stage on a wider road nearby and run a shuttle rather than block your neighbors in.
How long does it take your crew to reach Pasadena from your base?
We run up the 110 or the 210 depending on where you are, and we schedule early starts to stay ahead of the morning crawl. Travel time is already inside the flat-rate price, so a slow freeway day never adds to your bill.
