01 Overview

Flat-rate local moving across Los Angeles and LA County

The thing nobody warns you about moving in LA isn’t the boxes — it’s the geography. A two-mile move from Silver Lake to Echo Park can eat a morning because of permit parking, a driveway the truck can’t enter, and the 101 sitting at a dead stop the whole time. Pro Express Moving has been working these streets since 2013, and we plan the move around the city instead of pretending the city isn’t there. We’re a licensed California moving company running our own trucks and our own uniformed crews — the two movers who wrap your dresser in Highland Park are the same two who set it down at the new place.

Across LA County, movers in LA handles premium moves on a single written flat rate, with nothing sprung on the invoice.

Nothing about our pricing is buried. Choose the hourly clock — $149/hr brings two movers and a truck, $209/hr brings three — and because we waive the one-hour minimum, the meter only turns while there’s actual work happening. Prefer a single locked number? A studio or one-bedroom starts on our flat rate at $419. The $99 you put down to reserve the date isn’t an add-on; it lands as a credit against what you owe at the end.

LA punishes movers who don’t know its quirks, so we show up ready for them:

  • Hillside and canyon homes off Laurel Canyon or in the Hollywood Hills, where we shuttle from a staged truck when the driveway won’t take a full-size vehicle
  • Spanish-style arches, narrow bungalow hallways and mid-century split-levels that call for disassembly rather than brute force
  • Permit-only blocks where we reserve curb space ahead of time so the truck sits at your door, not three buildings down
  • Floor runners, doorjamb pads and shrink wrap on every piece before it moves an inch

Whether you’re crossing the Valley from Sherman Oaks to Burbank or shifting a few blocks inside Santa Monica, you get a flat-rate quote, a real arrival window, and a crew that loads and unloads the same truck with nobody handed off in between. We watch the freeways too — the 405 and the 10 dictate when a crew rolls — so your day runs on a schedule instead of on traffic’s whim. What’s included

  • A uniformed Pro Express crew and one of our own box trucks rolling out of LA — we run the trucks and pay the movers, never day labor or a subcontractor
  • Two movers and a truck at $149/hr, or three movers and a truck at $209/hr, with the one-hour minimum waived so the clock only runs while we work
  • A flat-rate alternative that opens at $419 for a studio or one-bedroom, so you get the whole number before we leave the yard
  • Moving blankets, shrink wrap, four-wheel dollies, a stair-climbing hand truck, and ramps for the long carries hillside addresses demand
  • Disassembly and reassembly of beds, bunk frames, table legs and anything that won't make a tight Spanish-style doorway in one piece
  • Released-value protection at $0.60/lb standard, full-value coverage on request, and up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage per shipment

How we set the price

After a quick walkthrough or video estimate, we write up a single flat rate from the inventory you genuinely have — not from a clock ticking by the hour. Whatever the sheet reads is the entire price, with nothing tacked on afterward.

02 How we protect your move

Your things get handled like our own

Our truck rolls up already loaded with pads, film, and floor runners — ready to shield furniture, cover hardwood, and cushion the fragile pieces in LA’s Spanish-style bungalows and hillside homes.

Quilted pads

Before a single piece moves, dressers, tables, and headboards are wrapped and padded right where they stand.

Stretch film

Sealed against road dust and the LA heat, drawers stay shut and cushions stay clean the whole ride.

Floor & doorway guards

Hardwood, banisters, and trim come through clean because runners, rail wraps, and jamb pads go down before any lifting starts.

Built-to-fit crating

For mirrors, glass tops, framed art, and flat screens, we build crates sized to the piece — every corner covered.

Break-down & rebuild

Bed frames, tables, and oversized furniture get taken apart for transit, then reassembled once they reach the new place.

Straps, dollies & gear

Tight staircases, hillside switchbacks, and the heavy stuff all get the right tie-downs and equipment — we never cut a corner.

03 Why us

You hire the movers, not a middleman

Book Pro Express and our name goes on the contract, our truck pulls up to your door, and our own crew works the ramp. A broker signs none of that — it flips your job to whoever bids lowest, then steps out of the picture.

Pro Express Moving
  • Our own LA trucks and full-time, background-checked movers — no day labor
  • One flat rate in writing, locked — what you sign is what you settle, to the dollar
  • The same crew loads your old place and unloads the new one, start to finish
  • CPUC household-goods authority and USDOT/MC for interstate, fully insured
  • A Los Angeles office and one point of contact from the first call to the final box
What a broker does
  • Hands your job to whatever carrier comes in cheapest that week
  • Surprises you with fresh fees and a new number once move day arrives
  • Puts strangers you have never spoken to in charge of loading your home
  • Keeps you in the dark about who actually owns the liability
  • Drops a call center between you and whoever ends up doing the lifting

Questions we hear about this service

How soon can a crew be at my place somewhere in LA County?
For most addresses from the Westside to the San Gabriel Valley we can usually book you within a few days, and same-week slots are common once you're clear of the summer rush. A $99 deposit locks the truck and crew for your date, and it comes straight off the final bill.
Is the hourly rate or the flat rate the better deal for me?
It depends on the load and the access. A tidy one-bedroom near Culver City often lands cheapest on our flat rate that opens at $419, while a packed two-story with a long hillside carry usually pencils out better on the hourly clock — $149/hr for two movers, $209/hr for three. We price it both ways and you take the lower one.
Do you deal with permit parking and no truck access on the narrow streets?
Constantly. Half of LA is permit-only curb or a switchback driveway a 26-footer can't touch. We file for a temporary no-park permit where the city requires one and run a smaller shuttle vehicle up to the door when the big truck has to stage on the main road, so your move doesn't stall at the curb.
