Flat-rate local moving across Los Angeles and LA County
The thing nobody warns you about moving in LA isn’t the boxes — it’s the geography. A two-mile move from Silver Lake to Echo Park can eat a morning because of permit parking, a driveway the truck can’t enter, and the 101 sitting at a dead stop the whole time. Pro Express Moving has been working these streets since 2013, and we plan the move around the city instead of pretending the city isn’t there. We’re a licensed California moving company running our own trucks and our own uniformed crews — the two movers who wrap your dresser in Highland Park are the same two who set it down at the new place.
Across LA County, movers in LA handles premium moves on a single written flat rate, with nothing sprung on the invoice.
Nothing about our pricing is buried. Choose the hourly clock — $149/hr brings two movers and a truck, $209/hr brings three — and because we waive the one-hour minimum, the meter only turns while there’s actual work happening. Prefer a single locked number? A studio or one-bedroom starts on our flat rate at $419. The $99 you put down to reserve the date isn’t an add-on; it lands as a credit against what you owe at the end.
LA punishes movers who don’t know its quirks, so we show up ready for them:
- Hillside and canyon homes off Laurel Canyon or in the Hollywood Hills, where we shuttle from a staged truck when the driveway won’t take a full-size vehicle
- Spanish-style arches, narrow bungalow hallways and mid-century split-levels that call for disassembly rather than brute force
- Permit-only blocks where we reserve curb space ahead of time so the truck sits at your door, not three buildings down
- Floor runners, doorjamb pads and shrink wrap on every piece before it moves an inch
Whether you’re crossing the Valley from Sherman Oaks to Burbank or shifting a few blocks inside Santa Monica, you get a flat-rate quote, a real arrival window, and a crew that loads and unloads the same truck with nobody handed off in between. We watch the freeways too — the 405 and the 10 dictate when a crew rolls — so your day runs on a schedule instead of on traffic’s whim. Get my free moving quote and we’ll walk the numbers with you before anyone commits to anything.
What’s included
- A uniformed Pro Express crew and one of our own box trucks rolling out of LA — we run the trucks and pay the movers, never day labor or a subcontractor
- Two movers and a truck at $149/hr, or three movers and a truck at $209/hr, with the one-hour minimum waived so the clock only runs while we work
- A flat-rate alternative that opens at $419 for a studio or one-bedroom, so you get the whole number before we leave the yard
- Moving blankets, shrink wrap, four-wheel dollies, a stair-climbing hand truck, and ramps for the long carries hillside addresses demand
- Disassembly and reassembly of beds, bunk frames, table legs and anything that won't make a tight Spanish-style doorway in one piece
- Released-value protection at $0.60/lb standard, full-value coverage on request, and up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage per shipment
How we set the price
After a quick walkthrough or video estimate, we write up a single flat rate from the inventory you genuinely have — not from a clock ticking by the hour. Whatever the sheet reads is the entire price, with nothing tacked on afterward.
