01 Overview

Whole-home moves for LA houses, finished in a day

A house is a different beast than an apartment. There’s the converted garage, the ADU out back, the patio furniture, the dining set that’s lived in the same room for fifteen years, and the doorway the couch barely cleared going in. Pro Express Moving has been moving Los Angeles homes since 2013 — California bungalows in Highland Park, Spanish-style houses in Pasadena, mid-century places in the Valley — and we send a crew sized to the house so the whole thing happens in one day instead of stretching into two.

Across LA County, our LA moving crew handles premium moves on a single written flat rate, with nothing sprung on the invoice.

California licenses us as a moving company, and we operate like one all the way down: the movers on your job wear Pro Express uniforms, drive a Pro Express truck, and the same vehicle that gets loaded is the one that gets unloaded. The rate card is the one we use on every local job — two movers and a truck at $149/hr, three at $209/hr, or, for the smallest homes, a flat rate that starts at $419. Put $99 down to lock the date and it comes off the final bill.

LA’s housing stock asks for technique over muscle, and our crews come ready:

  • Bed frames, big sectionals and table legs are broken down here and rebuilt at the new house
  • Original hardwood, Saltillo tile and refinished bungalow floors get runners before anything rolls across them
  • Low Spanish arches, plaster walls and tight staircases get padded so nothing gouges the character of an older home
  • Stair-climbing hand trucks and shuttle runs handle hillside lots and long carries from a staged truck

We also plan around the things that derail an LA move day — a switchback driveway in the Hollywood Hills no full-size truck can reach, a permit-only block in Santa Monica, a steep canyon lot with a hundred-foot carry to the curb. We scout the access ahead of time so there are no 8 a.m. surprises and the day runs to schedule. Furniture is pad-wrapped and shrink-wrapped, protected at $0.60/lb released value standard with full-value coverage and up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage per shipment available. What’s included

  • A full-house crew of our own Pro Express movers and a truck sized to your home, dispatched from our LA yard
  • Hourly at $149/hr for two movers or $209/hr for three, or a flat rate opening at $419 for the smallest homes
  • Pad-wrapping and shrink-wrapping of all furniture, plus floor runners and corner guards for original bungalow and Spanish-tile floors
  • Disassembly and reassembly of beds, sectionals, dining tables and anything that won't clear a narrow hallway or low arch whole
  • Standard $0.60/lb released-value protection, optional full-value coverage, and up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage per shipment
  • A $99 deposit that holds your date and credits to the final invoice — no surprise fuel, stair, or long-carry surcharges

How we set the price

After a quick walkthrough or video estimate, we write up a single flat rate from the inventory you genuinely have — not from a clock ticking by the hour. Whatever the sheet reads is the entire price, with nothing tacked on afterward.

02 How we protect your move

Your things get handled like our own

Our truck rolls up already loaded with pads, film, and floor runners — ready to shield furniture, cover hardwood, and cushion the fragile pieces in LA’s Spanish-style bungalows and hillside homes.

Quilted pads

Before a single piece moves, dressers, tables, and headboards are wrapped and padded right where they stand.

Stretch film

Sealed against road dust and the LA heat, drawers stay shut and cushions stay clean the whole ride.

Floor & doorway guards

Hardwood, banisters, and trim come through clean because runners, rail wraps, and jamb pads go down before any lifting starts.

Built-to-fit crating

For mirrors, glass tops, framed art, and flat screens, we build crates sized to the piece — every corner covered.

Break-down & rebuild

Bed frames, tables, and oversized furniture get taken apart for transit, then reassembled once they reach the new place.

Straps, dollies & gear

Tight staircases, hillside switchbacks, and the heavy stuff all get the right tie-downs and equipment — we never cut a corner.

03 Why us

You hire the movers, not a middleman

Book Pro Express and our name goes on the contract, our truck pulls up to your door, and our own crew works the ramp. A broker signs none of that — it flips your job to whoever bids lowest, then steps out of the picture.

Pro Express Moving
  • Our own LA trucks and full-time, background-checked movers — no day labor
  • One flat rate in writing, locked — what you sign is what you settle, to the dollar
  • The same crew loads your old place and unloads the new one, start to finish
  • CPUC household-goods authority and USDOT/MC for interstate, fully insured
  • A Los Angeles office and one point of contact from the first call to the final box
What a broker does
  • Hands your job to whatever carrier comes in cheapest that week
  • Surprises you with fresh fees and a new number once move day arrives
  • Puts strangers you have never spoken to in charge of loading your home
  • Keeps you in the dark about who actually owns the liability
  • Drops a call center between you and whoever ends up doing the lifting

Questions we hear about this service

My place is an older Spanish-style home with tight doorways and tile floors — can you handle it?
That's a big share of what we move. Sammy Cruz's crew is built for narrow arches, plaster walls and stairs that punish careless movers. We disassemble what has to come apart, lay runners over the original tile and hardwood, and pad the corners so a 1920s home comes through the move without a fresh scratch.
Can I get a price for the whole house before move day?
Yes. We walk the home in person or over video, count the heavy pieces and the stairs, factor in the access, and hand you a quote. Larger homes usually run on the $149/hr or $209/hr hourly clock; a small one-bedroom may come out cheaper on the flat rate that opens at $419. A $99 deposit holds the date.
Will you finish a whole house in one day?
Size the crew right and a three- or four-bedroom LA home wraps inside the day. If the garage is packed and the attic is full, we'll either put a third mover on at $209/hr or pack the day before, so move day holds and never spills into a second one.
